Free! Iwatobi Swim Club: Review

Free! Is an anime about an all male high school swimming club. When they first meet they all bond over having feminine names.

When the club was first formed they didn’t have enough people in the club to actually be official and able to compete in the national swimming competition. For a while they were on search for someone to join the club. One of the members, Nagisa, saw this guy named Rei that was on the track team with amazing form, and he wanted him to be on the team. He rode the same train as him and everyday he went up to him and asked him to be on the team but was denied every time because he didn’t know how to swim.

Rei was still on the track team at this point, but he didn’t enjoy the way he was working. He failed at what he once was good at and lost all motivation.

He visited the swim club just to take a look at it. Rie saw Haru, the best swimmer on the team maybe in the school, and he got inspired to learn how to swim. Seeing Haru swim filled him with motivation and made him see the beauty in swimming that he didn’t see before.

I enjoy seeing the drama unfold and all their problems with not only swimming but with their personal life’s. They solve them together and it makes them closer.

I got emotionally invested in this show and very quickly fell in love with it. I cared about the characters and what was going on in their life’s.

I understand that it may not be for everyone but I love this show.

Tokyo Ghoul: Review

Tokyo ghoul is an anime about a world filled with “ghouls” which are people who look like humans but find human food disgusting. Instead, they have to eat humans. The only thing from the human world that they like coffee.
Ken Kaneki the main character was a book nerd but only one real friend. He was at a coffee shop when he saw this girl he thought was pretty, and he wanted to ask her out on a date.
When he finally did they bonded over their love for reading and a specific author.
Near the end of the date this woman tried to kill him because she wanted to eat him. She turned out to be a ghoul.
Nothing that night went according to plan. She died and Kaneki turned into a ghoul.
He painfully finds out by trying to eat his favorite food and seeing that it is now absolutely disgusting and is making him sick. Through this he finds out he’s a ghoul and is now realizing that by the cause of one night his entire life has changed.

I really enjoyed watching all three seasons of this show.
At some parts it made me happy and others it made me very sad. It got me emotionally invested and pulled at my heartstrings.
It did take me awhile to finish it but I finally did it and man do I not regret a thing.
(I might have almost cried at the end btw)
I know it’s not a lot of people’s cup of tea but I guess it was definitely mine.
Recommend to anyone even if you think it looks disgusting you should still give it a chance.

Over all a good anime.

Avatar the last Airbender: Review

I am aware that a lot of people don’t consider this show an anime, but I am going to write about it anyway because I’m not that sure if I think it is or not.

Avatar is about 4 elements of powers which are water, air, fire and earth. The fire benders want to take over and be in control of all the elements but the only one who can stop them is the avatar who is master of all 4 elements.

The problem is that everyone thought the avatar was dead because he’s an airbender and the Fire Nation killed all the airbendersAang, the avatar escaped and accidentally froze himself for 100 years.

When he came back he was still the 12-year-old kid he was when he left but this time everyone thought he was dead along with all his people.

When he heard about what the fire nation wanted to do he was set on saving the rest of the world and their people he knew he was the only one who could do it.

While Aang was the avatar he still hadn’t mastered all the elements yet. He needed to learn how to bend all the other elements before he could try to fight the Fire Lord. He and all his friends that were there to help him knew it wouldn’t be easy, but they wanted to be there for him and help defeat the Fire Nation and the fire Lord.

This show kept me interested during the entire thing and didn’t have very many bad episodes.

It had great character development and showed how they changed and how it affected them. It made you feel pain with the characters and made you feel bad for them like it was happening to you. Or at least that’s how I felt.  It’s a show that’s hard to hate in my opinion.

It’s an amazing show that I would recommend to anyone that enjoys good and emotional investing shows.

Death Parade: Review

Death Parade is an anime about what happens when you die and how that is decided.
When someone in this show dies they along with someone else that died at the same time compete in a game at a bar called Quindecim. One of the two people press the button, and a machine starts working. Whatever it lands on is what they have to play. It could be bowling, air hockey, darts, old maid, etc.
The bartenders are the people who control the whole game and have a part in deciding where the customers go.
Whoever wins the game goes to heaven and who ever loosed goes to “hell”. It’s pretty much just eternal falling and darkness.
When the elevator opens, and the two people walk into the place they don’t remember anything about what happened before they got there. They know their names and jobs but they don’t know that they are dead. As time goes on their memory’s start to come to them, and they eventually remember how they die.
The show talks about and shows other peoples life’s and what their life was like before they died but also the two bartender’s life’s as well.
The bartenders aren’t supposed to have many feelings or compassion for other people because they are there to judge people. Decim knows he isn’t supposed to have feelings for anyone and doesn’t understand why he does feel for some people.
I think this is a great show that keep me not only interested but on the edge of my seat with every episode. It’s such a great idea for a show and was handled very well. The anime was a test and the creators didn’t expect anyone to like it because of how dark it was and were surprised to see how many fans it had. It only has one season because the people who made it are afraid they will ruin the show if they tried to make another season. While of course I would like another season and would watch
it I understand where they are coming from. Personally I don’t see what they would make a second season about. It was wrapped up so nicely with the first season I don’t see what they would make it about.
In conclusion I think it’s an amazing anime that I would recommend to anyone to watch.

Erased: Review

Erased is a Japanese anime about a 29-year-old man named Satoru that works at a pizza place but does manga and his plan is to become a manga writer.

When he was in elementary school there were a series of kidnappings in his town and one of those students that were kidnapped and murdered was in his class. He had only ever seen her a few times and that was when he was walking home from school. He would always see her in the park by herself. One of the times he saw her there was the last time he ever saw the girl. At that time even before it happened Satoru was a very shy kid but there was this local guy who would always play with him and tell him to believe in himself. That man was sentenced to life in prison for the kidnapping and murder.

When it happened Satoru blamed himself and felt that he could have done something to prevent her death. He knew that his friend was not the one who did it. The parents of the students in the school all tried to make their kids forget about it because at the time they we’re all in danger.

Now that Satoru is an adult he has this special ability that he calls “revival”. During revival happens he goes back in time from 2 to 5 minutes. It always occurs when something bad is about to happen. He has stopped many bad situations because of revival.

His mother witnesses what could have been a kidnapping. She looks into whom the man was because she knew she had seen him somewhere before and figured out the truth about the kidnappings but that very day she was murdered by an unknown man. Satoru moved his mothers body and had blood on his hands because of it. A neighbor walked into the house and saw Satoru with his mothers dead body. She screamed and called the police on him. He ran away from the police before they could ask him anything.

He had a revival. However, this time he didn’t know where he was. A young boy ran past him telling Satoru he was going to be late. He knew that kid from somewhere, but he didn’t know how or where. He followed the kid to a big school. As the boy ran in the school there read a big sign on the front of the school that said: “1988 National Champions”. He was back in elementary school.

I love this anime very much. I pretty much finished it in one day and love every bit of it. The day it ended. I wasn’t begging for more because I was very pleased with how it ended. The way it ended satisfied me and I didn’t want it to be messed with because it was perfect
I recomend this to anyone who enjoys thrillers and even better if you like anime.
